MEA Welcomes Richard Stump as Director of Compliance Programs

Don Szambelan, senior vice president and CLO of Midwest ENERGY Association (MEA), an energy delivery trade association founded in 1905, announced the appointment of Richard Stump as the new Director of Compliance Programs.



MEA supports the energy industry at both a strategic and operations level. Richard, as MEA’s Director of Energy Operations, will proactively liaison with energy industry member companies to meet their specific operational needs.



Richard’s 35 years in the energy industry enhances MEA’s ability to support member needs with industry knowledge and insight. Richard can apply his own experiences with the issues and challenges facing MEA members, as well as perspectives gained from his colleagues. Richard is an enthusiastic participant within the industry. He has managed Operator Qualification at an operations level, is an active participant in the ASME/B31 initiative, presents at many industry conferences, and, in the past, managed special projects such as contractor relations.



Prior to his hiring, Richard supported MEA in various assignments including, most recently, as the chairperson of the MEA Gas Technical Training Committee. His experience and contacts in the industry are rich and deep. He will add significant credibility to MEA’s compliance programs such as Best Practices, industry associations and relationships with our members.



Richard brings to MEA members a channel of communication, experience and involvement that is “the real deal.”
