Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc. Sponsors Spring Harp Fest for the Sixth Year

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 31, 2015

In addition to their corporate sponsorships of organizations such as the American Heart Association and the Burn Institute, Bill Howe Plumbing is proud to sponsor local community events, sports teams and military programs initiated by their own employees. One example of an employee led program is the Annual Spring Harp Fest held in La Mesa, Ca. The San Diego plumbing company has had a long relationship with the event organizers together with their field supervisor, an accomplished musician and plumber.

This year’s Spring Harp Fest is the sixteenth annual celebration of re-establishing music in education. The end goal of the music event is to bring harmonicas and students together to enhance music appreciation. Spring Harp Fest was founded in 1999, and draws some of Southern California’s most prominent blues harmonica players. The all day event is 100 percent free to the public, and funded through charitable contributions from the local community, donations from attendees, raffles at the event and local business support. In past years, local restaurants like Hooters and HoDads have donated food for purchase and families are encouraged to come all together to enjoy a quality and fun, music-filled time.

Bill Howe became involved with Spring Harp Fest six years ago because their senior field supervisor, Tom Safreed, is a harmonica student that has been playing at the event for several years and advocates for the organizations. Tom even helped to form the Bill Howe Blues Band, a group of musically inclined technicians, which has performed at many company parties and other local music venues. Tom celebrated his 15th anniversary with Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc. in 2015 and is a skilled San Diego plumber as well as accomplished musician. He is passionate about the art of the blues and harmonica players and is proud to help bring that passion to local residents and a new generation of fans.

At this year’s Spring Harp Fest, Tom Safreed, who won last year’s Harp Contest, will lead the music festival kicking off at 12 PM. Featured guests he is excited to share the stage with include: Billy Watson, Zach Cole, Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Big Jon Atkinson and many more. In Addition to this great event the San Diego plumbing company has promoted many individual plumbers and their families’ events surrounding music and the arts. In June 2012, Bill Howe Plumbing generously hosted a “Reggae to the Rescue” event at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach to raise money for one of their own, Doug Powell’s son, Andy. The benefit helped to raise enough money for Andy’s life saving kidney transplant. Doug celebrated his 20th anniversary as a San Diego plumber with Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc.

“We built our company with a mission to take care of our employees and give back to our local community,” said Tina Howe, Vice President of Bill Howe Family of Companies. “We are proud to be a part of this great event that supports music education and our own employee. We hope to see everyone at this year’s festival.”

The 2015 Spring Harp Fest will be held from 11-6 at Harry Griffen Park in La Mesa on Saturday April 4. It is open to the public, free with a suggested $ 10 donation and families can even bring their leashed dogs.
