Burlington, VT (PRWEB) November 26, 2014
The couple received this complimentary wedding celebration as part of a promotion hosted on VermontWeddings.com. Military couples were encouraged to send in their stories of love and service. Volp and Fontaine were selected as one of three finalists. The winning couple received over 22,000 online votes from their fans from all over the world. The couple felt an incredible and unexpected outpour of support from friends, family, co-workers, schools, peers, and complete strangers.

All of the Vermont businesses that contributed to this event felt a gratitude to both Ric and Sienna for their commitment to service and to each other. Both members of the Vermont National Guard, Ric and Sienna support each other with their goals and commitments. With school, military commitments, jobs and the dream of owning a home, the couple struggled with the possibility of affording their dream Vermont barn wedding.
Sienna had the sinking feeling of not being able to afford those refinished post & beam interiors as their backdrop. She always dreamed of being married in a restored Vermont barn since she was raised on a Vermont family owned dairy farm. “The ability to have my farm heritage family in a barn is an honor to my late grandfather. After the ceremony my Grandmother told me that the entire time she kept thinking about how proud my Grandfather would have been. Being married inside of the Barn at Boyden Farm was an invitation for us to begin our lives together in a setting, which holds so much of my early history.”
The Barn at Boyden Farm is rich with family history as well. This family owned farm joyfully celebrated one hundred years at the Cambridge location this year. Learn more about the barn’s own history – http://ift.tt/1D5D6g0.
And the gratitude continues as Sienna already misses planning the wedding, “I love the friendships that have grown from this experience. I have always had a strong sense of pride for Vermont and after our wedding; I have an amplified respect for the talented hardworking wedding professionals who gave us a celebratory honor. We are so thankful.”
Each contributor to the wedding had their own personal military stories and reasons why they wanted to participate. Everyone felt that it was their unique way to give thanks. The local Vermont businesses that contributed to the 2014 A Salute to Our Soldiers include:
