Tempe Hotel Wins Coveted Community Service Award for the State of Arizona – Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes Named Community Service Leader of the Year for Arizona

Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) March 28, 2015

The Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes, a luxury resort-style hotel in Tempe, Ariz., has won the highly coveted award as Community Service Leader of the Year for the State of Arizona. Selected by the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association at their recent Stars of the Industry event, this distinction is the latest acknowledgement to be bestowed upon this award-winning Tempe hotel and resort.

“Over the past decade we’ve built a reputation as the Cleanest and Friendliest hotel in the valley. This award solidifies our most important identity as our industry’s community leader in the State of Arizona,” said highly tenured General Manager, Steve Eberhart.

Renowned for its spectacular venues and breathtaking views, The Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes is emerging from over $ 14 million in renovations, including all guestrooms, meeting space, restaurants and the lobby. Popular with business and leisure travelers, as well as regional and national associations and non-profits, the resort’s location next to Tempe Diablo Stadium – spring training home for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim – and proximity to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is ideal.

As corporate social responsibility gains momentum, area corporate neighbors such as Aetna, Bank of America, State Farm, Accenture, Hewlett-Packard, General Electric, and Well Fargo are being invited to align their charitable and community missions with The Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes. Equally, the hotel’s non-profit partners are finding The Buttes as the best choice to host their gala, fundraiser and seminar.

“We are so grateful for the stellar service at Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes and Top of the Rock in connection with our 2nd Annual Dreams of Summer Gala. Southwest Kids’ Cancer Foundation (SWKCF) is ecstatic to partner with the hotel for next year’s gala (Saturday, February 27, 2015)”, said SWKCF board member Deb Kowalski. “The motto of The Buttes Gives Back is certainly true as the hotel has helped to give children with cancer the chance to attend summer camp.”

Highlights of The Marriott Buttes giving back include: 348 volunteer hours to the Ronald McDonald House: “Cook Dinner” program; 288 volunteer hours and $ 7,400 in donations to Culinary Delights; 275 volunteer hours in Marriott’s Spirit to Serve program, and 175 volunteer hours with Habitat For Humanity. Over and above this effort, the hotel’s regionally acclaimed Executive Chef Greg Wiener has achieved tremendous results with his Think / Eat / Give menu in Top of the Rock. The T|E|G program selects one local charity per month and donates a portion of the proceeds from the special menu. The hotel raised more than $ 15,000 in 2014 and is pacing ahead in 2015.

“With this type of community connectivity and momentum, our hotel is prepared to lead the state and our industry in the corporate social responsibility arena . . . not as a responsibility but rather as a true passion and mission,” said Doug Varsano, Director of Sales and Marketing of the Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes.
