Heartwood Center in Evanston Launches “Community Nights”

Heartwood Center for Body Mind Spirit, a holistic health services center in Evanston, is leading the way in creating a healing community in the Dempster/Dodge area. They have launched an evening taking place once per month with the goal of giving back to the community by offering complimentary health and wellness services and classes provided by their very own practitioners. At each community night, various practitioners volunteer to provide their wellness-related services, such as massage therapy, acupuncture, psychotherapy and many more modalities that are used for pain management and health maintenance. While the services are free of charge, donations ranging from $ 10.00 to $ 30.00 are suggested.

Heartwood’s Community Nights launched in September, 2014. The next community night is scheduled for October 7, 2014. The practitioners will be providing treatments including: 20-minute bodywork sessions, 20-minute acupuncture auricular sessions, group sessions for mindfulness and focusing, 20-minute Thai bodywork sessions, 30-minute group “stress busters,” and 15-minute mini health assessments. The neighborhood within a block or two of Dempster Street and Dodge Avenue has drastically changed. The newly renovated Heartwood Center includes the beautiful Skylight event space, seating up to 300 people, featuring wellness programs taught by internationally known practitioners. Heartwood also recently purchased two additional adjacent properties, which includes a parking lot, and they are negotiating a third property.
